Baywood Learning Center is located on 12000 Campus Drive in the hills of Oakland, California on a 17 acre estate owned by East Hills Community Church.  Though Baywood Learning Center is nonreligious and welcomes families of all faiths, East Hills Community Church has graciously leased a wonderful space for our program.  The location was selected for its open feeling and close proximity to nature.  It is not unusual to see deer, wild turkeys and quail wandering through the grassy field next to the play area.  The site is a former mansion that has a pool in which Baywood Learning Center schedules swimming lessons and pool time.  There is a lovely playground with a meadow and picnic tables.  We also have an area for an organic garden.

 

Trails on the property lead through oak groves, and forests filled with redwoods and bay trees, a natural year-round creek and miles of hiking trails meander through redwood forests and to a rare ecological feature: vernal pools.   We believe Nature is a great teacher!  The mansion overlooks hills and the bay.  It is a wonderful setting in which children learn and grow.
