Come visit us for an Open House, Wednesday Evening, March 26th!
 
Join us for a social evening to learn about Baywood Learning Center.  You may also select to hear Dr. Linda Silverman speak about how to support the emotional needs of gifted children.
 
FREE admission to Open House and Reception.  $25 per person or $40 per couple to attend the talk by Dr. Silverman.  This event is for parents and caregivers, sorry no children can be accomodated at this event. Open House Schedule
6:30 pm - 7:00 pm
Meet the specialty teachers and staff of Baywood Learning Center, take a self guided tour of our facility. Learn about the educational opportunities at BLC and how to enroll your child.
7:00 pm - 8:00 pm
Dr. Linda Silverman speaks on serving the emotional needs of gifted children. If you are not attending the Silverman talk, you may continue to socialize with BLC staff and other parents.
8:00 pm - 8:45 pm
Reception, network with Baywood Learning Center staff and Dr. Linda Silverman.

Serving the Emotional Needs of Gifted Children
Gifted children are expensive and time-consuming.  They usually need less sleep than you do, ask more questions than you can answer, want 100 percent of your attention 24 hours a day, have obsessive hobbies, are unstimulated by the school curriculum, react intensely to everything, endlessly long for a best friend who understands them completely, hold perfectionistic standards for themselves and you, want to know the meaning of life when other children only want to know how to whistle, and keep their bedrooms in a condition you can never show company.  In order to be the perfect parent, you need unlimited funds, unlimited patience, an encyclopedic mind, and someone to sleep for you. Learn ways you can support these extreme needs.
