Join in an evening of fun, friendship and food for young people ages 13 to 16.   Meet other teens who love to discuss and think about world events, science, justice; why the sea is boilng hot and whether pigs have wings....

Sponsored by Baywood Learning Center and the Next Step Program

 

Date:  Saturday, January 19, 2008
Time:  6:30 - 8:30 PM
Place:  12000 Campus Drive (mid-level), Oakland
Fee:  First session FREE!  Subsequent sessions $20 each. (waived for The Next Step students)

 

Possible discussion topics: 

  • Which is more important, knowledge or imagination? 
  • What will transportation look like in 2028? 
  • Why do people eat what they eat?
  • What makes a person socially popular; are those qualities important for survival? 
  • Is graffiti art? 
  • What does it mean to be "successful"? 
  • Why do we have wars?

What is your most burning question? 

 

Topics to be discussed will be contributed by participants and submitted via RSVP.  Selected topics will be announced a few days before the meeting with some possible website sources for information, so that you can be armed with information for discussing and debating the topic.
